Lek receives AmCham Slovenia Award for Best Business Practice
The project Industry and University – Together Building a Society of Knowledge and Prosperity, implemented by Lek in collaboration with the Ljubljana University Incubator and the University of Ljubljana, has been awarded the title of "Best of the Best" Business Practice. The competition is organized by AmCham Slovenia and aims to identify the best business practices that inspire the business community and bring innovation, motivation and networking for growth and progress.
The winning project is the result of a close collaboration with the University of Ljubljana, which has developed over the years into a natural partnership. Both partners are aware of the opportunities and responsibilities that arise from their shared mission, which they pursue through a wide range of collaborations: research projects, theses, internships, hackathons, summer schools, international consortia, exchanges of knowledge, experts and much more. They focus in particular on opportunities for young people's development, encouraging their curiosity, professional and personal growth. The main purpose of the partnership is to raise the level of collaboration between industry and academia to one of sustainable strategic partnerships, creating a fluid and open innovation space for the development of new knowledge, future competences and talent. Additionally, long-term networking significantly strengthens the innovation capacity of the partners involved and, in a broader sense, contributes to a higher quality of life for all: new and more accessible therapeutic options for patients are created; more quality jobs are generated; and domestic companies become more attractive to foreign and domestic professionals.
"Close cooperation with academia is one of the pillars of our activities, bringing innovative breakthroughs, higher added value, new development opportunities and, last but not least, greater competitiveness for Slovenia. We are proud to have built a truly close and collaborative community of diverse members, who meet regularly to exchange ideas and good practices, thus increasing trust between the two spheres," said project manager Darja Ferčej Temeljotov, Strategic Programs Project Lead.
Two other companies – Manpower Slovenia and Airnamics d.o.o., a member of the Kolektor Group – were among the super-finalists for excellent business practices "Best of the Best".
