At this year’s 10th annual Education Management conference, held at Otočec by Planet GV and the SOFOS Education Management Institute, Lek, a Sandoz company, once again received a TOP 10 Education Management award. Awards were also presented to nine other companies and organizations which systematically invest in knowledge and provide for the education and training of their employees. The award was presented by the chairman of the commission Dr. Bogdan Lipičnik to Samo Roš, Executive Director of Human Resources and Member of the Lek Board of Management.

Winning a TOP 10 Education Management award in 2010 is a confirmation of Lek’s professionally planned work process and investments in the education and personal development of its associates. Lek management is aware that providing continuous education, training and advancement for its associates is crucially important for the company’s growth and development. Samo Roš, Executive Director of Human Resources and Member of the Lek Board of Management said upon receiving this year’s award: “As in every year to date, in 2009 Lek invested in development extensively and in a planned manner, and provided continuous education, training and advancement for its associates, which we are very proud of. In uncertain economic conditions, this kind of support is all the more important for the company’s continued development. Therefore this year’s award is particularly meaningful. It shows that we don’t neglect our work even in straitened economic circumstances and that we are oriented towards continued development and progress. Our associates are therefore deserving of special praise for their participation and for the organization and implementation of activities in the field of education and training.”

In 2009, Lek organized numerous internal and external courses on various topics, and as a part of a global company our associates also have the opportunity to attend courses abroad. Through participating in international projects, Lek associates have a unique opportunity to study with and learn from major foreign professionals.

The selection of the recipients of the awards for the top ten best practices among companies and organizations in Slovenia in the field of systematic investment in knowledge and stimulating the accelerated development of educational practices and the enhanced reputation of the field of education was performed by a three-member expert panel comprising Dr. Bogdan Lipičnik (Faculty of Economics, University of Ljubljana), Dr. Daniela Brečko (Planet GV) and Monika Zalokar (Planet GV).
