New Board of Management

At its meeting held on 20 April, the Supervisory Board of the pharmaceutical company Lek d.d. adopted the letter of resignation by the President of the Board of Management Dr. Andro Ocvirk, and appointed as new President Hon. Metod Dragonja, the current Minister of Economy in Slovenia. Moreover, the Supervisory Board adopted the proposal of Metod Dragonja to appoint Janja Bratoš and Marko Podbevšek members of Lek’s new Board of Management.

In conformity with the resolutions carried by the Supervisory Board of Lek d.d. on the final restructuring of the Board of Management, and with Metod Dragonja’s readiness to undertake the tasks estimated by the company’s executive bodies to be the most appropriate for him, and being able to stabilize the business situation in Lek, several discussions took place between the present and former Boards of Management as well as the management and employees representatives, bringing about a common decision about the appointment of the new mandatory and the new Board of Management. The President of the Board of Management Dr. Andro Ocvirk continues to work for Lek.

Metod Dragonja will cover the areas of strategic development, finances and human resources management. Janja Bratoš, the former Marketing and Sales Director, a chemical engineer, will be in charge of marketing and business development in the new Board of Management. Marko Podbev{ek, the former Director of the Engineering Unit, a chemical engineer, will be responsible for technical operations and quality system.

The Lek Supervisory Board confirmed the proposal made by the Workers’ Council to relieve the Labour Director Metka Karner Lukač of her duties. The appointment of a new Labour Director will be carried out upon the Workers’ Council’s proposal in conformity with the Regulations after the completed candidature procedure.

“The principle motivation for my come-back to Lek was to ensure stable and successful business operations and further development of the company I have worked for for 20 years", said Metod Dragonja upon his appointment to the position of the President of the Board of Management.
