Meeting between Lek and Pliva
The management boards of the pharmaceutical companies Lek and Pliva met at Lek’s head office on 4 February 1999 to discuss the topical issue of cooperation between the two companies, possible joint projects and the possibility of Lek and Pliva having a joint presence in the Croatian and Slovene markets.
The topics that were not treated during the discussions were mergers and acquisitions. The issue of Pliva’s ownership of Lek shares was raised, to which Pliva’s management board responded by once again assuring that Pliva owned no Lek shares. However, such possibilities can be raised following successful business cooperation.
Concerning eventual business cooperation, the two companies agreed to discuss this issue at more regular future meetings. Expert groups will meet and draw up proposals of cooperation regarding particular markets and projects.
