Lek once again receives full Family Friendly Company certificate

  • Lek Pharmaceuticals receives a full Family Friendly Company certificate for the second time in a row.
  • Lek has been involved in the Family Friendly Company initiative from the very beginning of the project. It is one of the first companies in Slovenia to receive the full certificate. The certificate has been awarded for the tenth year in a row by a non-governmental organisation, the Ekvilib Institute.
  • The Family Friendly Company certificate proves Lek's commitment to creating a work environment that is friendly to its employees and their families.

»For many years we have been committed to creating a work environment in which our employees would feel good and can effectively balance their professional and private life. At Lek, we adopt and adapt actions on the initiative of our employees and take care that they are actually executed in pratice,« said Marjan Novak, member of the Board of Management and Workers' Director on the occasion of the extension of the full Family Friendly Company certificate. Lek, celebrating 70 years of its existence this year, will continue its efforts to maintain the position of the employer of choice for employees with families, as this is an important part of their responsibility to employees.

Since Lek has become a Family Friendly Company holder, a number of family-friendly initiatives have been adopted, such as flexible work hours with a choice of arrival and departure time at the workplace, a time account, the option of working from home, re-integration of employees into work after maternity or parental leave, company open house days for families of employees, schoolchildren day care and leisure activities for children during school holidays. A few years ago, a new initiative was adopted - the child’s time bonus – which enables parents to take a day off when introducing children to a school or nursery. In addition, the subject of work-life integration has been included in the annual discussions about individual career development plans and a recommendation for the leaders was made to convene meetings with a planned commencement and completion within the fixed working hours (between 8.30 and 15.00).

Additional benefits are also available to employees, including the Lek kindergarten in Ljubljana, Christmas presents for associates’ children, different sports activities for associates, a fitness studio and health clinic at the company headquarters in Ljubljana, as well as further training and education. They encourage associates to live a healthy life-style with different activities throughout the whole year.

Employee satisfaction has been confirmed through the results of opinion polls among the employees and their active role in formulating proposals for new initiatives with which they want to co-create family-friendly conditions in the company.
