A joyful celebration to conclude Slovenia's national Clean Teeth and Healthy Nutrition campaign

5. 6. 2008

Today, the 25th annual Slovenian nationwide Clean Teeth and Healthy Nutrition campaign organized by the Dental Section of the Slovenian Medical Association in cooperation with Lek, a Sandoz company, as the general sponsor, and the company Ilirija which assumed the sponsorship within the framework of its acquisition of Lek Cosmetics, came to its close. Nearly 3000 children from all over the country gathered to attend the closing event. There were a number of high-ranking guests, including Zofija Mazej Kukovič, Slovenian Minister of Health, who had assumed honorary sponsorship of this year’s campaign, and Jani Moederndorfer, the Vice-Mayor of the city of Ljubljana.

On the occasion of this important anniversary, special thanks should be given to Tatjana Leskošek Denišlič, the author of the campaign, who first introduced the clean teeth contest to the Kette Murn elementary school in Ljubljana, where she works as the school dentist. The warm applause she received from the children and the guests was unanimous testimony to her commitment.

This year’s campaign involved almost 98 percent (683) of Slovenia’s elementary schools, of which 37 schools and institutions for children with special needs. At the closing ceremony, the sponsors’ representatives presented awards to all the regional winners: elementary schools Žužemberk, 16th December Mojstrana, Negova, Livada, Branik, Artiče, Koroški jeklarji, Poljčane and ZUJL-OVI Jarše. This year’s winning class was a class of 5th grade pupils of the Beltinci elementary school.

In his address to the children and the guests, Marjan Novak, a member of the Lek Management Board, pointed out that Lek pharmaceuticals d.d. was proud to have been able to support this successful campaign, organized for children and unique of its kind in Slovenia, for as long as a quarter of a century.

Glad to receive the awards, the children were further entertained by the program featuring the Hip Hooper acrobatic troupe and the Kingston band, which provided a pleasant and joyful conclusion to this year’s Clean Teeth and Healthy Nutrition campaign.
