Appointment of a new member to Lek Board of Management

Ljubljana, 27 January – At its meeting of 27 January 2000, the Supervisory Board of Lek Pharmaceutical Company adopted a proposal made by Metod Dragonja, President of Lek Board of Management, to appoint an additional member to Lek Board of Management according to the statutory provisions. The new member will be responsible for research and development at Lek.

The newly appointed member of the Board is prof. dr. Uroš Urleb, professor at the Faculty of Pharmacy, who is one of the most prominent experts in the field of pharmacy in Slovenia at the moment, and well-established in the international pharmaceutical institutions. Due to Mr. Urleb’s extensive knowledge and wide experience in the field of pharmaceutical and chemical sciences, his appointment will greatly contribute to Lek’s commitment to and orientation towards research and development. Dr. Urleb is the holder or co-holder of 11 international and domestic patents, of 3 patents pending, as well as the author of a number of international scientific publications.

The new member of the Board of Management will assume his office in the beginning of April 2000.
