Lek announces
In accordance with the provisions of Article 66 of the Securities Market Act and with the Rules of the Ljubljana Stock Exchange d.d., Lek Pharmaceuticals d.d., Ljubljana, hereby announces
to have received on 19 October 2002 a notification from the bidder Servipharm AG, c/o Novartis Pharma AG, Lichtstrasse 35, 4056 Basel, Switzerland, advising that on 19 October 2002 Servipharm AG, in accordance with the provision of Article 22 of the Takeover Act, announced that it was modifying its offer for the purchase of the shares of Lek d.d. published in the Delo newspaper on 28 September 2002, by offering Lek shareholders SIT 105,000 per LEKA share and LEKB share, and that the validity of the offer, in accordance with Article 27 of the Takeover Act, would be extended till 4 November 2002, at 12.00, inclusive.
