Resignation of Chairman of the Supervisory Board

During the 5th regular meeting of the Supervisory Board of Lek d.d. on 28 January 1999, the Chairman of the Supervisory Board, Mr. Marjan Kandus, requested a vote of confidence for his office. The vote was requested after a discussion on the activities of Pliva d.d. with regard to its stock acquisitions and plans regarding Lek.
Mr. Kandus failed to obtain sufficient support. He was therefore relieved by the Supervisory Board of his post of Chairman of Lek Supervisory Board.
The meeting of Lek d.d. Supervisory Board was thereafter adjourned until the following week with an additional item on the agenda: election of a new Chairman.
