Lek's New Image on the Web

30. 11. 2001

Ljubljana, November 30 – The pharmaceutical company Lek today introduces its new image on the World Wide Web. The primary goal of the web masters who created, designed and service our site is to provide easy access to the useful and detailed information for Lek’s key publics.

We began revamping our web site with the intention to ensure more effective communication of our vision and mission, as well as to raise the level of communication for our users. We analyzed the needs and interests of different targeted user groups and redesigned the content specifically to serve their needs.

We enriched the contents presenting the Lek Group and our basic mission, concern for health. We also created new pages devoted to shareholders, investors, the media, as well as Lek’s Research and Development activities.

Our web site is in tune with the latest trends in web design. It provides the blind, and those with various disabilities, the needed modifications to facilitate their surfing and, of course, their access to text contents.

The search feature checks the entire contents and is updated daily (reindexed). Using the print command from virtually any page, you can access most pages in a print format. The pages are designed for sophisticated and advanced searches. Some documents are offered in the Adobe Acrobat (.pdf ) format, which allows for optimal printing. The web site has been redesigned in the hope that it will best support the communication needs of our key users. With this new structure and the expanded content of our web pages, Lek can measure up to the most advanced web sites in the world.

The architecture of the web page now meets the needs, desires and expectations of our users. This supports our strategic decision that in the future Lek will develop its presence on the World Wide Web by also adding pages for its subsidiaries in its key markets, by developing web pages for individual products from the Lek non prescription drug portfolio, as well as theme pages, which will demonstrate Lek’s concern for people’s health and which will indirectly help contribute to Lek’s brand name recognition. Lek is also considering other possibilities provided by the World Wide Web (e-business, marketing and the like). Of course, we must be attentive to the legal requirements, which somewhat restrict the pharmaceutical industry’s activities on the web.

The project team in charge of revamping our web site was made up of employees from Lek and the Literal Company. They led this effort through all its phases, from planning and preparation to production and publication.

This press release contains statements and conclusions based on projections of Lek’s future business operations. These estimates are derived from the best information currently available. In case these forecasts prove unreliable, the actual results could prove different from those projected.
