  • Support of the LGBTQI+ community is also one of the five fundamental pillars of Lek's diversity, equity and inclusion strategy.

Lek, a Sandoz company, symbolically raised the rainbow flag in front of its Ljubljana office building and at its Lendava site as a sign of support for the LGBTQI+ community.

The company is committed to creating an inclusive environment that values diversity and enables associates to be their true selves, regardless of sex, gender identity, sexual orientation or any other personal circumstances, without fear of discrimination.

President of the Lek Board of Management and Sandoz Country President Slovenia, Robert Ljoljo, said that the company is committed to talking openly about gender identity and sexual orientation, encouraging dialogue and showing support for the LGBTQI+ community, both in the wider community and among staff:

“I believe that diversity and uniqueness enrich us. Our dedication to fostering an inclusive work environment is one of the foundations on which we build our future and an important contributor to fulfilling our purpose – pioneering access for patients.”
Robert Ljoljo,
President of the Lek
Board of Management

Because they believe in the power of collaboration and know that only by working together and striving for diversity, equity and inclusion can they achieve lasting and positive change in society, Lek raised the rainbow flag in Ljubljana this year at a joint event with Novartis. Together they also invited Lia Bordon, a professional coach, psychotherapist, lecturer and member of the LGBTQI+ community, to come and give a talk to share her story of new insights, life changes, acceptance of difference, and with that the love for oneself and for others.

Lek has been raising the rainbow flag in support of Pride Month for several years, thereby serving as an important role model for the general public and for other businesses in the region. The company is also a recipient of the LGBT-friendly certificate awarded by the Municipality of Ljubljana.
