Lek, part of Novartis in Slovenia, has received the MEGA Inspiration 2022 award for good practice in intergenerational cooperation in the workplace. The expert panel once again recognized the commitment of Novartis in Slovenia to intergenerational cooperation and to addressing challenges and creating opportunities in relation to the diversity and inclusion of all associates. The award was presented as part of the We All Win When We Work Together project, which aims to raise awareness among all generations about the importance of mutual cooperation and lifelong learning. The project and the competition are co-financed by the Ministry of Labour, Family, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities and the European Social Fund.

"People are at the center of everything we do, that’s why diversity and inclusion are one of Novartis' main guiding principles in creating an inspiring, curious and supportive work environment that enables associates to realize their full potential. As one of the largest employers in Slovenia with nearly 6,000 associates, we cherish the beauty of intergenerational cooperation. Listening to associates of different ages and from various areas helps us find solutions that really matter to all our associates and teams. I would like to thank all associates for striving to improve our work environment by creating an inclusive culture, for working well together and staying connected, wherever and whenever possible. My deepest congratulations also to employee networks for creating the opportunities with regard to D&I. We are delighted that our efforts have been recognized again this year by the MEGA Inspiration Awards jury and we commit to further improving HR practices and solutions with aim to create a community where people are engaged and have growth opportunities," said Paulina Pazio, HR Head for Novartis in Slovenia, upon receiving the award.

Novartis in Slovenia addresses diversity and inclusion through four pillars – intergenerational collaboration, diverse talent, the LGBTQI+ community and people with disabilities. The competition showcased a wide range of activities and actions that address the challenges of intergenerational cooperation in the workplace. Novartis in Slovenia highlighted a key solution for developing new ways of working – the Choice with Responsibility program, which gives associates more choice in where, when and how they work, thus enabling them to tailor their commitments to their individual needs, depending on their life stage.

The efforts of Novartis in Slovenia in the area of HR management are increasingly being recognized externally. At the beginning of the year, the company was once again awarded the international "Top Employer" certificate, and recently it was ranked among the best in the country by the Faculty of Organizational Sciences of the University of Maribor and the MojeDelo.com web portal with two HR internships. "By participating in competitions of this kind, all employers can contribute to the exchange of good practices and co-create higher standards for employees in work environments," said Paulina Pazio.
